Statement by the Prime Minister on the passing of Master Corporal Jeffrey Scott Walsh

Ottawa, Ontario

Prime Minister Stephen Harper today issued the following statement on the passing of Master Corporal Jeffrey Scott Walsh:

“I was deeply saddened today to learn of the death of Master Corporal Jeffrey Scott Walsh. He will be greatly missed.

“On behalf of Canadians, I extend my sincere sympathy to the family, friends and loved ones of Master Corporal Walsh, and am hopeful that they find strength in knowing that our nation mourns at their side.

“Master Corporal Walsh put service to country before self, and his sacrifice will not be forgotten.”
