PRIME MINISTER ANNOUNCES CHANGES IN THE SENIOR RANKS OF THE PUBLIC SERVICE

Ottawa, Ontario

Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced today the following changes in the senior ranks of the Public Service:

Simon Kennedy, currently Deputy Secretary to the Cabinet (Operations), Privy Council Office, becomes Deputy Secretary to the Cabinet (Plans and Consultation), Privy Council Office, effective August 1, 2008.

Daniel Jean, currently Associate Secretary of the Treasury Board, becomes Deputy Secretary to the Cabinet (Operations), Privy Council Office, effective August 15, 2008.

Bob Hamilton, currently Senior Assistant Deputy Minister, Tax Policy Branch, Department of Finance, becomes Associate Secretary of the Treasury Board, effective August 15, 2008.

Andrew Treusch, currently Executive Director, Competition Policy Review Panel Secretariat, Industry Canada, becomes Associate Deputy Minister of the Environment, effective August 1, 2008.

Greta Bossenmaier, currently Executive Vice-President, Canada Border Services Agency, becomes Associate Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, effective August 15, 2008.

Luc Portelance, currently Deputy Director, Operations, Canadian Security Intelligence Service, becomes Executive Vice-President, Canada Border Services Agency, effective August 15, 2008.
