PM announces changes in the senior ranks of the Public Service

November 5, 2010
Ottawa, Ontario

Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced today the following changes in the senior ranks of the Public Service.

Janice Charette, currently Senior Advisor to the Privy Council Office, becomes Associate Secretary to the Cabinet and Deputy Minister (Intergovernmental Affairs), Privy Council Office, effective November 15.

Monique Collette currently President of the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, becomes Senior Advisor to the Privy Council Office, pending her next appointment, effective November 15.

Paul LeBlanc currently Executive Vice-President of the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, becomes President of the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, effective November 15.

Wilma Vreeswijk currently Assistant Secretary, Expenditure Management Sector at the Treasury Board Secretariat, becomes Executive Director of the Administrative Services Review, Privy Council Office, effective December 6.

The Prime Minister took the opportunity to congratulate Marie-Lucie Morin for her recent election as Executive Director of the World Bank representing Canada, Ireland and the Caribbean and to express his gratitude to Ms. Morin for the significant contributions she has made as Associate Secretary to the Cabinet and National Security Advisor.

The Prime Minister also thanked Samy Watson for his contributions as Executive Director at the World Bank representing Canada, Ireland and the Caribbean over the past four years.
