STATEMENT BY THE PRIME MINISTER ON THE RESULTS OF THE SASKATCHEWAN ELECTION

November 8, 2007
Ottawa, Ontario

Prime Minister Stephen Harper today issued the following statement on the results of the election in Saskatchewan:

"On November 7, the people of Saskatchewan exercised their democratic right and elected the government of Premier - elect Brad Wall. On behalf of the Government of Canada, I congratulate him on his successful campaign. Premier – elect Wall has been given a mandate to address the issues of importance to all the people of Saskatchewan, and I look forward to working with him to build a strong Saskatchewan in a strong Canada."
