Statement by the Prime Minister on the results of the Nova Scotia election

Ottawa, Ontario

Prime Minister Stephen Harper today issued the following statement on the results of the election in Nova Scotia.

“On June 13, the people of Nova Scotia exercised their democratic right and re-elected the Progressive Conservative Party of Nova Scotia to be their provincial government. I extend congratulations to Premier Rodney MacDonald and his team on their successful campaign and I wish him success.

“Nova Scotia is a vibrant province and its citizens are optimistic for their future. Premier MacDonald and his Plan for a Stronger Nova Scotia have been given the mandate to tackle the issues of importance to all Nova Scotians.

“On behalf of the Government of Canada, I extend congratulations to Premier Rodney MacDonald and his team for their victory and I look forward to working with him on federal-provincial matters”.
