PRIME MINISTER STEPHEN HARPER ANNOUNCES CHANGES TO PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARIES' RESPONSIBILITIES

Ottawa, Ontario

Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced today that two Parliamentary Secretaries have received new assignments.

Gerald Keddy, Member of Parliament for the Nova Scotia riding of South Shore—St. Margaret's and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, assumes the additional responsibility of Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of International Trade.

Deepak Obhrai, Member of Parliament for the Alberta riding of Calgary East and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, assumes the additional responsibility of Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of International Cooperation.

In announcing the changes, Prime Minister Harper thanked Mr. Brian Pallister, Member of Parliament for the Manitoba riding of Portage—Lisgar, who served as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of International Trade and to the Minister of International Cooperation.
